Non Timber Forest Products
Annual Report 2008
Foreword
by Chairman of the Board of Directors
This Strategic Plan will be the prime document through which NTFP will manage its programme of activities over the next three years. It sets out clearly our Strategic Objectives, and also gives a clear indication of what outputs we expect and what activities we will undertake to secure them. I am also pleased that the Strategic Plan sets out the Values and Principles which NTFP have adopted in order to ensure we operate with integrity and compassion.
The Strategic Plan has been drawn up following extensive consultation with all our valued partners. Foremost among our partners are the indigenous communities which we serve, and we are proud of the excellent working relationships we have developed with these communities over many years. We have listened carefully to what the communities have told us about their needs and priorities, and these are addressed comprehensively in this Plan.
The Strategic Plan is challenging! It requires NTFP to both increase its scope of operations, both in geographic coverage and the range of interventions offered, and to improve its own performance. I am pleased to say that NTFP has been awarded the CCC Good Practice and Principles Standard in recognition of the already excellent systems and procedures it has developed. However, this has only served to inspire us to seek even higher standards of good practice. We intend to maintain our position as one of the leading NGOs in Cambodia, at the forefront of innovation and the development of new ways of working.
Finally, the excellent position in which NTFP finds itself is very largely due to the continuing support of our donors, fellow NGOs and the government departments and agencies with whom we work. I would like to offer my thanks to all our partners for their support and guidance over the years – and, of course, ask that this may continue through the next three years too!
