NTFP team Facilitated the Key cashew farmers to meet and negotiate with middlemen in Banlung  

On March 12, 2020 in Banlung, Ratanakiri, the NTFP project team and cashew technicians led and facilitated 14 key farmers of cashew nut (with one woman) from the target villages to meet and negotiate with middlemen.
The aims of the meeting is this
– The cashew farmers will understand the specific selling price at the provincial level.
– The cashew farmers to have good relationships with brokers at the provincial level
– The cashew farmers and middlemen to discuss prices, price challenges, overseas market problems (Vietnam), shipping issues, contracts and quality standards of cashew nut.
Results achieved
– Cashew farmers understand the specific selling price at the provincial level and the variation in prices.
– Cashew farmers have a good relationship with two large middlemen in Banlung by providing mutual contact telephone numbers.
– Cashew farmers learn about prices, challenges of prices, overseas markets (Vietnam), logistics issues, contracts and quality standards of cashew nut.
