  1. About organization

Non-Timber Forest Products, NTFP, is a local Non-Government Organization based in Ratanakiri Province, NE Cambodia.  Since we were established in 1996 we have played a critical role in helping indigenous people secure their rights to their land and natural resources. We also recognise the vital importance of preserving the cultural heritage of indigenous people, often inextricably linked with their lands and forests.

NTFP was registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia in March 2007.

NTFP was registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia in March 2007. NTFP is operating at 3 provinces, Ratanakiri, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng. Our main based office is in Ratanakiri province. NTFP has total 31 ( 9 females) staff in which 75% of them are indigenous staff. NTFP signed MoU with Ministry of Environment in Oct 2016.

NTFP received the Certificate of Compliance on Governance Professional & Practices (GPP), first time in 2009, and 2nd time in Dec 2017.

Our vision

For Indigenous Peoples of Cambodia to possess the abilities and knowledge to exercise their human rights. By effectively participating in social development, land use management, and preservation of natural resources, Indigenous Peoples can implement sustainable livelihood activities while maintaining cultural identity. Through their resiliency to change, adaption to modernity and environmental degradation, Indigenous Peoples can thrive for the next generations to come.

Our Mission

To develop the capacity and facilitate the collaboration of activities that provide support on rights and regulations for marginalized communities. In particular our target beneficiaries are Indigenous Peoples, rural poor women, men and children of Cambodia. Our activities will promote their livelihoods through education of the use and preservation of sustainable natural resources while enhancing their National identity.

  1. Technical Expertise and Experiences

From 1996 up to 2014, NTFP focused a lot on natural resource management through capitating the indigenous people to exercise their rights to protect their land, and forest. The programs were focused on:

Project 2: Community’s Rights and Mining Impact.

Project 1: Non-Formal Education through Kawet and Kreoung Bilingual Literacy Classes.

From 2015 up to 2018, NTFP began experiences working on Child Protection , supporting Out of School Children and supporting the community livelihood through cashew nut and commercial vegetable production..
